CYN DEVOTION CHALLENGE.

Do you criticize people when they do something the wrong way or do things differently? If you do…well you should stop. What’s the point in it? Actually, there is no point, all your doing is hurting the person. It’s a dumb and selfish thing to do, swearing at someone, talking trash and other stuff. Why go up to someone and say “you suck, go home and don’t play basketball anymore” It’s just so pointless, you could try to help the guy get better…

Yeah, it goes both ways too. People will criticize and make fun of you, but don’t let it get to you, God tells us to stay humble and to not let our pride get the best of us. The verse tells us to say things that help others, such as constructive criticism and congratulating others. This makes the other person and yourself feel better, but more importantly it pleases God, by saying things that will help others it spreads God’s love.

Have you ever felt like kicking one of your siblings in the teeth because they annoyed or disturbed you? I have… LOL. But lets not forget what this verse says, “Whoever loves God must also love his brother.” We can’t go around saying we love God when we feel anger towards someone else…

I have ALOT of arguments with my brother, we fight over a lot of things. Such as the xbox, I mean we have two but he likes to use the one I’m using because it bothers me. This ends up with us fighting and boy does it get ugly… 2 holes in the wall. Yep, I may have a lot of fights with my brother, it doesn’t mean that deep down I don’t love him. Cause hes family! My point is, how can we love God if were showing hatred towards siblings and friends? It doesn’t work. If you can’t love others then you can’t love God, because if you can’t love what you can see then how will you possibly be able love someone that you can’t even touch, feel or see? God showed us love, and if we are to be his representatives then we have to show his love to others.

James 5:16

The verse tells us to confess our sins and pray for each other. This is because the prayer of a righteous man is powerful, this is true. I know I can also pray when I’m hurt or in pain. It doesn’t have to be just about myself though, I can pray for a friend who’s in pain or going through a rough patch in their lives. Our prayers are how we communicate and reach out to God, and we should be doing it more often. It helps us stay connected and in touch with God, and also helps us deal with situations. Prayer is a good thing to implement in our daily lives, if you need help with something for school…PRAY FOR IT! If you need help on a test…PRAY! It’ll help you when you need it most.
